The
following is an email received from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
Ms Gail M. Waddell, General Counsel for the Colonial Williamsburg
Foundation sent this message on May 9, 2006. According to this
email, Ms Gail M. Waddell states that the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
has a trademark on the common phrase Colonial Williamsburg and on behalf
of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, demands that all use of the term
Williamsburg in connection with the sale of lighting violates the Colonial
Williamsburg Foundations's trademark. In response to the demand of
Ms Gail M. Waddell, General Counsel for the Colonial Williamsburg
Foundation, the two headings that included both the terms "Colonial" and
"Williamsburg" were changed to the new term "Old Virginia." It is
lightingforum.com's sincerest hope that Ms Gail M. Waddell, General
Counsel for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation will find the change from
the phrase Colonial Williamsburg to the phrase Old Virginia satisfactory.
