These
hand folded sculptural shades were designed by Architect Paul Christiansen
between 1969 and 1978, and have been in continuous production by the
Danish company Le Klint. The material is a color stabilized white
PVC which is completely washable and anti-static. Le Klint pendants
are enjoying renewed popularity along with other design icons of the 60's.
World-renowned classic Le Klint lampshades and fixtures are produced as
genuine hand-crafted pieces at the company's premises in Odense, Denmark,
while new, more modern models are constantly being developed in
collaboration with leading Danish designers and craftsmen. From the very
outset of the company, Le Klint has presented high-class lighting and
lampshade products in consistent, hand-made quality and timeless designs.
These are classic designs, world-class applied art from Denmark. This
country has, in fact, a unique tradition of extraordinary, sensational
design expressed by talents as Poul Kjaerholm, Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner,
Verner Panton, Montana-and Le Klint.
Le Klint lamps are more than just elegant shades. They are, in fact,
successful combinations of lines and materials-beautifully put together by
the very best of Danish designers. This is challenging for the materials,
the public, yet trendsetting beyond the confines of time. |
