LEDS C-4 presents its collection based on
glass produced using the fusing technique. This technique for working
glass, known since the ancient Egyptians, was replaced by other glass
production techniques and was rediscovered in the second half of the 20'th
century. The basic principal behind fusing is the absolute necessity
that the glasses be fused are compatible with each other; that is, that
the coefficients of dilation of the glasses are identical. The result is a
new glass that is tension free. Adequate heating, depending on the
size and thickness of each part, in the kilns a basic step in the
application of this technique. The kilns used are special
computer-controlled models that raise the temperature slowly between 520
degrees and 600 degrees. They then quickly increase to 800-850 degrees and
maintain this temperature for a few minutes before rapidly cooling to 550
degrees. This marks the beginning of the annealing process, the most
delicate stage of the fusing technique. At this stage, correctly
performed, the tension disappears from the fused glass. Once cooled,
the glass, depending on its design, must undergo further treatment in the
kiln so that it can be slumped into suitable molds. |

By using
the fusing technique, LEDS C-4 has combined light and glass as basic
materials in the creation of modern, innovative lines in the fine art of
illumination. By using noble materials in the glass fusion process
(opaque beads, glass stringers, vitrified enamels and glass with intense
colours), in combination with our proven skill with light sources, we
achieve the richness of an idea that is limited by our own creativity
and that of our customers. Opaline glass diffuses light, creating
enchanting, comfortable environments. Its fusion with coloured glass,
which projects different hues, enables the creation of items that blend
into the decoration of the desired or planned environment.

Each glass
item is hand-made and is a unique, unrepeatable work of art. The
metallic elements are produced industrially and combine the latest
advances in lighting techniques to create each of these beautiful items.
All our models are manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard
of quality and comply with the legislative safety requirements of the EN
60598 and UL 1598 standards. This results in a collection where
Art and Technique converge, and is the result of a year of intense work
to offer our customers an outstanding collection that has not spared
heavy investment in R & D and research into the latest tendencies in
design and colours. As a leading company in this sector, we have
committed to the art of illumination for more than 50 years and are
proud of our commitment to constant renovation and the creation of works
whose value is maintained over time.
